Programming is required to do things faster using machines. Therefore, to execute the business requirement efficiently, development should finish quickly. Language, which already possess required functionality, tops in such scenario, where minimum code is required and which is only business logics including very minimal infrastructure code.
We know the past, we know why it happened, we know how it happened, we know when it happened. What we don't know is, where it will lead to?
Future is a function of past and the function is this present. So we don't know the future, beacuse we don't know the past either and don't understand the present at all.
